Our Services
Body Control™ Pilates are held by a Ceritfied Body Control™ Pilates Instructor.
Mat classes are suitable for young and old, the physically active and the sedentary. Physical therapists, chiropractors and sports medicine specialists recommend Pilates work for rehab and post-rehab purposes and as an injury prevention program.
The Pilates Method, created by Joseph Pilates some eighty years ago is a proven conditioning technique that concentrates on strengthening muscles without force, using slow and controlled movements. Increasing mobility of the spine, shoulders and hips.
Participants will learn the fundamentals of the Pilates Technique, through weekly postural alignment and mat exercises. They will learn how to find and strengthen their “core” torso muscles and how to release stress and strain from their neck, shoulders and lower back.
After a few sessions people feel an increased energy level and begin to notice positive changes in their body’s alignment.
This new-found body awareness will carry over into everyday movements leaving you with a feeling of balance and well-being.
Mat Classes are available in different levels: Beginners, Intermediate and Advanced to suite different physical needs and abilities allowing participants to progress safely through the Pilates Method.
Bring a mat and towel to each class. Wear comfortable clothes. Bare feet or socks are fine. “Dynabands” available at class. Sissels” mats, ideal for Pilates, are also available
Private sessions are recommended for participants who may have special needs: injuries - chronic pain - back pain - arthritis shoulder or hip joint problems - fibromyalgia and for those who have no Body Control™ Pilates experience and would like to join an existing group class session.
